With the success of 's Vaporfly series the current iteration is about evolution – building off the race-proven success of previous versions.
The waffle rubber outsole has been thinned out, allowing a few millimetres of extra ZoomX foam whilst maintaining the 39mm stack height. Along with additional foam under-foot, the heel is expanded laterally to increase stability and allow more weight to be transferred to the outside of the foot. Buried within the midsole, the full-length carbon Flyplate gives the same stiff and propulsive feel which so many runners love about the Vaporfly.
A tweaked Flyknit weave on the upper sees specifically selected Flyknit yarns and engineered zones in the forefoot bring a new level of performance. There's breathability around the toes combined with soft, yet supportive yarns deliver the most customised Vaporfly upper we've seen yet.
Hakone Ekiden Edition
"Ekiden" (駅伝) is a Japanese word which refers to the unique sport of long-distance relay racing. Ekiden could be roughly translated as ''station to station''. The original meaning of the word is reflected in race rules, where each runner at the end of their run has to pass a sash to the next runner.
The colourway draws direct inspiration from the Nike Zoom Streak Spectrum Plus, originally released in 2003. With an iconic flame treatment there's few shoes which compare when talking about pure swagger.
